It's all in a Dream!

I dreamt of a magnificent day last night. A dream so unmitigated, that its sole purpose is to propel you towards equanimity. Our lives are chaos because of our own endeavors. We complicate simple things. We repress ourselves. We let ourselves be unworthy of a life that's waiting to happen. We deny ourselves a love that's waiting to be found.

Dreams are a subtle way which let you know about your innermost desires. I tend to dream a lot when I'm stressed or when I'm surrounded by quietude. Yesterday, I dreamt of a quaint little chalet amid tall luscious palm trees. By the beach side, I breathe deep as the waves are calling out to me. I sat there as time stood. In awe, of the beauty of nature, of what it brings to us. Tranquility is what those periodic waves brought to me. I sat there, content. I sat there, jubilant.

With every wave, that gratified my body. With every wave, that left it, I knew then what of the lessons we are meant to learn. You can never hold water in your hands; it flows, for that's what it’s meant to do. You can't clasp the sand too tight, it slips away, grain by grain. But when you enjoy both at their pace, you revel in the feeling of joy.

We want to embrace everything together, keep it with us, but everything has a job to do. Everything and everyone has a path. Wind blow, the trees, every leaf sways together, silently making love to the breeze. Together in tandem they create such a beautiful sight. That same breeze ruffles your hair, caresses you ever so slightly. All you want to do is grasp that moment, that breeze and bottle it up. But we forget, that the wind has to blow and the trees have to bear fruits, give us air we breathe, give us life.

As I strolled across the sandy beach, with crystal clear water waiting to be dived in, with the sight of crabs coming up for a breath of air, I moved ahead. The sun shining, warming the body as the water beneath my feet cooled me. A kaleidoscope of people emerged in front of me. At a distance, I see people who I really love. I wave to them, give them my most genuine smile. I got a glimpse of happiness right there. Someone calls from the ocean, I see boats full of people, a string that floating next to it. I run towards the ocean, to pull them back, the drifting string hurt my hands. As I search for means to get to them, I stand still and I see them, I recognize their face but not who they are anymore. I wave at them, wish them a happy journey. They are meant to float away. And then I heard voices, of people calling to me on the other side. I search in frantic but the sea shell in my hands tells me to wait. As it sings of the ocean, it tells me to take one step at a time. At a distance, I see a hand...I walk towards it, shying my eyes from the bright sun. I topple and it protects me. A tear leaves as my ankle twists, the hand wipes it. I look up smiling and that hand pulls me where I’m meant to be. It pulls me towards my happiness.

I woke up then, I woke up knowing what I’m supposed to do and I woke up with a smile.

Such Days!

There are days when you just want to write. Write all that you are feeling, all that you want to feel and how you want to feel. Your brain thirsts for knowledge, your hands want to grasp any muse. How your soul wants to be freed. Yes, today seems like the day to write.  Good writing is not always about using the best of words, complicated plot but sometimes just a simple expression of what you feel and how you express it and how the reader perceives and enjoys it.

A New Year, New Dreams, New Me!

Every year we make new resolutions. Every year we make new promises. Every year we make new dreams and those give rise to new hopes. As we move to a new year, what happens to all the resolutions, promises, dreams and hopes of the last year? Just like the 365 days that pass away or rather fade away taking with them the happy and the bad times, all of them are forgotten. They leave the body and merge into the universe.

If you look at it, nothing in this world is stationary, so why should you be. Why should we be hung up on a goal, on a dream or a person or a memory. This is what traps you. Hinders your growth. Change is inevitable. Growth is mandatory, it is our choice whether we want to flourish in the light or grow damp in the dark.

Treacherous Terrains

There she sauntered the meadows a loner,

An isolated figure, transient amid the foliage,

Weary, wandering forlorn, shrouding away from adversity,

Merging with the panorama, cloaked in melancholy,

Through the passage of time, she bore the encumbrance,

She swore on his sins, whilst he lingered in the streets,

Trouncing the pain, she masked with a smile, journeying brazen,

Clutching her own, belligerent and enduring,

Imprisoning the tears, she strode with her pride,

Lush life enfolds her, hope soars acrid,

Life and the mysteries defined,

She hides from the pain in visible sighs,

Hungry for comfort, she sought relief, denied.

Memories!

Just a bunch of words,
Some notes of your voice,
Is all that's left of you,
Everytime I hear you,
I begin to think,
Why did I choose you.

A tear filled with the memories,
Of hopes and dreams that could be,
Slip silently down my cheek,
For the cloud of lies spreads,
Like thunder that kills.

A path not chosen,
Yet remembered so,
Just waiting for the day,
It's lost once more.
