Monday Blues!

Ah the cursed Monday. We’ve had numerous quotes, memes and what not about the so called Monday blues. I’m particularly inclined towards it, have been forever actually. Monday blues hit you the minute you wake up because:

  1. You can’t wake up in the morning as you get the best of sleep after a weekend of fun like for eg. if you have been drinking (mostly happens since we are adults). You. Just. Want. To. Sleep. In.
  2. You’ve read so much about it already; it’s almost psychological now that you have Monday blues.
  3.  In spite of the fact you love your work, it’s fun to JUST CRIB for the heck of it. ;)
So, here are some of my tried and tested tips to banish the Monday blues.

  • Every Monday now, I don’t send a Good Morning or a happy Monday bla bla crap but a funny Monday message. Trust me it absolutely actually makes you want to live the Monday to its fullest. Since I have not used the word Monday a lot (;) cheeky I know), let’s get real about Monday blues.
  • Wear the prettiest of clothes. Look HOT af and get that charm on. Yup, not only will you have eyes rolling but you will KILL it.
  • Listen to some kickass music and sing along like your lungs will explode. Trust me not only will it lift your spirits but the contagious energy can be seen transferring from one automobile to another.
  • Smile. Smile at the guard, smile at any co-worker that you can lay your eyes on. Not the freaky “Am gonna kill you” smile but the genuine “OMG so happy to see you after 2 days” smile. Works like a charm!
  • Hug the shit out of friends at work. The extra bodily love does everyone good. Try to have a fun day.
  • Have the best breakfast of your life, gossip about the weekend before you chalk out your to-do list for the week.
  • Take a walk after lunch. Buy something (ok this really is just an excuse to buy stuff) but hehe go out.
  • Have fun conversations, over messages or for real. Flirt and get that smile on your face and the face of another.
  • Now, have some fruit. Preferably Banana – the so called happy fruit ( psst and if you are married or have access to someone, have morning sex).
  • Plan an awesome evening out. This just absolutely sets the tone for the week.
These are some tips I’ve explored ever since I’ve been working. Try not to stress about Monday so much, always remember there is either beer or bae or both waiting when you get back home. Adios!!
